Description
The 1980s was the decade of hot hatchbacks in automotive circles! One of the many automakers that made hatchbacks popular was Volkswagen, and their MK2 GTI 16V was a favorite among automotive fans. Tamiya has faithfully recreated the MK2 GTI as a rally race car as it competes in the A7 class. The body is based on the MF-01 chassis, which is at home on both asphalt and flat tracks!
MF-01X – Compact 4WD for different surfaces This compact 4WD chassis is based on a rugged monocoque frame with an integrated transmission and provides an exciting driving experience, whether on the road or on flat surfaces. It features a rear engine with gear-driven rear wheels and a propshaft that delivers power to the front. Both the front and rear transmissions have differentials. The placement of the battery pack in the center of the chassis provides excellent balance, while the 4-wheel independent suspension with double wishbones uses friction dampers.
